T A L M A C H
so much and simple

Love For People
/a parable/

Temporal

/ask the Lord and never think that you are He/

/ask and receive/

Thanks to I.M.
Translated from Russian

Parable About Love For People.

I asked the Lord to punish my enemy – and God told me:
"No. He is destined to become your best friend."
I asked
the Lord to grant me patience – and God told me:
"No. Patience is the outcome of trials. It is not conferred, one learns it."
I asked
the Lord to take away my pride – and God told me:
"No. Pride may not be taken away. One has to abandon it."
I asked
the Lord to give me happiness – and God told me:
"No. I give Blessings, and will you be happy depends on you."
I asked
the Lord to safe-keep me and my kins from pain – and God told me:
"No. We suffer and overcome suffering together."
I asked
the Lord for spiritual growth – but God told me:
"No. Spirit has to grow on its own, but I shall always prompt
help."

I asked
the Lord to help me love others as much as He loves me – and God said:
"With happiness! Oh, you have finally understood what you need to ask for."
I asked for power – and God sent me trials to harden me up.
I asked for wisdom – and God sent me problems that I need to wrestle with.
I asked for courage – and God gave me dangers.
I asked for love – and God sent me people needing my help.
I asked for goodies – and God gave me opportunities.
I have received nothing from what I've asked for.
I've received everything needful.

Ugly Times Itself

REPULSIVE AND UGLY KIDS ----- OUR VERY OWN HIPSTER-KIDS

The Salt Song
in Nekrassov's epic poem -
WHO CAN BE HAPPY AND FREE IN RUSSIA?

Temporal

Read in full here
Translated by Juliet M. Soskice
1917
(this song - on p. 258)
The Salt Song

  Now none but God
    Can save my son:
  He's dying fast,
    My little one….

  I give him bread—-
    He looks at it,
  He cries to me,
    "Put salt on it." 140
  I have no salt—
    No tiny grain;
  "Take flour," God whispers,
    "Try again…."

    He tastes it once,
  Once more he tries;
    "That's not enough,
  More salt!" he cries.

   The flour again….
  My tears fall fast 150
    Upon the bread,—
  He eats at last!

  The mother smiles
    In pride and joy:
  Her tears so salt
    Have saved the boy.

A Prayer Before Communion
by St Dimitry of Rostov

Open, O doors and bolts of my heart
that Christ the King of Glory may enter!
Enter, O my Light and enlighten my darkness;
enter, O my Life, and resurrect my deadness;
enter, O my Physician and heal my wounds;
enter, O Divine Fire, and burn up the thorns of my sins;
ignite my inward parts and my heart with the flame of Thy love;
enter, O my King, and destroy in me the kingdom of sin;
sit on the throne of my heart and [You] alone reign in me,
O Thou, my King and Lord.
